 My warmest greetings for 2010!
In 2009, I shared in my first message we need to create our world to be a winner, highlighting the winning formula for our truly successful partnership. It was a rally call to work together shoulder-to-shoulder in facing the challenges and stake our market success.
Looking Back
Last year, the world saw severe economic challenges and drastic market shifts. Without your dedication and contributions, our channel business could not have navigated through these toughest of times. Together, we came out a winner in spite of the many obstacles.
And I am proud to share our score card with you:
- Digitalization was a mission-success
We achieved three times more sales for digital radio sales in the Asia Pacific regions as compared to 2008. Moreover, a greater percent of customers are ordering bundled applications for their radios and this has brought increased revenue opportunity and customer stickiness for partners who engaged in MOTOTRBO™
- Closer market proximity
We have the largest sell-through team on the ground than ever before, including six personnel for South East Asia, four personnel for India, three personnel for Korea and over 20 personnel for China. We increased this team by 50% in 2009 - we have invested in getting closer to our partners and customers to improve our ability to respond to market needs
- Fortifying Motorola leadership
We stepped up key channel initiatives to create new opportunities to grow market share – Premier Partner Program (PPP) and Motorola Exclusive Genuine Outlets (MEGO) saw channel participation reaching impressive levels. Channel partners are leveraging the Motorola brand to compete successfully against competition and non-authorized vendors.
- Expanded product portfolio
We completed the successful integration of the Vertex product line, gearing up the supply chain in Asia Pacific for increased sales across the distribution territories. Our entry level radio series achieved 21% increase in unit sales as compared to 2008.
